Jesse Daley is ready and raring to begin life as a professional footballer as he has departed Australia to join US Major League Soccer club the Seattle Sounders.

The Lions midfielder was recently offered a contract by the MLS side following him impressing during a three week trial in March.

Whilst awaiting a visa, Daley has had to watch from the sideline as Lions have continued on their recent fine run of form which has seen them win their last five games on the trot.

The contract sees Daley on a one year deal with an option for an additional year.

Daley will join the S2 squad which is the Sounder’s second team under their MLS squad.

Coach Warren Moon said, “Jesse was really starting to pull the strings for our side but you could never begrudge a player such a great opportunity and we all wish him the very best of luck on the next journey of his career”
