Volunteers

What is a volunteer?

In community football, a volunteer is someone who generously gives their time, skills, and energy to support the running of the club, events, and teams.

Volunteers can take on a wide range of roles, from coaching and assisting with training, to helping organise game day logistics, fundraising, managing social media, or even preparing meals for players. Every volunteer, regardless of their role, plays an essential part in ensuring the smooth operation of the club and the development of the players.

Team Manager

A team manager is a key role within any football club, responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of a team.

They act as the main point of contact between players, coaches, and parents, handling everything from coordinating match day logistics to communicating schedules and team updates.

Team managers also help with administrative tasks, such as collecting player registrations, ensuring players have the necessary equipment, and sometimes assisting with team fundraising or social activities.

Team Marshall

A Team Marshall is a volunteer role that helps ensure the safety, organisation, and smooth running of the team on match day. Team Marshalls are typically responsible for overseeing the logistics on the sideline during games, managing player warm-ups, and ensuring that players are ready and prepared for their matches. They often help with crowd control, assist with ensuring that players are following safety protocols, and may also help organise team photos or ensure players are in the correct positions for their games.

Ground Official

A Ground Official is a volunteer responsible for ensuring that match day operations run smoothly at the venue. They play an important role in overseeing the game environment, ensuring that all safety and facility protocols are followed. Ground Officials are typically tasked with managing the flow of people around the ground, directing players, coaches, and spectators to the right areas, and helping with the setup and pack down of equipment and facilities.

Whether you’re a parent, a former player, or someone who simply loves the game, there are countless ways you can contribute to the club’s success. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the sport, meet new people, and make a positive impact in your local community. Your involvement makes all the difference, and together, we can continue to build a strong and thriving football community in Queensland.
