THREE SECOND-HALF GOALS SAW OUR LIONS MEN KEEP THEIR TITLE HOPES ALIVE WITH A COMMANDING 3-0 VICTORY AT GOODWIN PARK
With hope still alive in this NPL title race, our Lions Men travelled to Goodwin Park in a must-win clash as we chase Moreton City Excelsior to the final day of the season.
It was a strong start against a rival playing for pride in the final home game of the season, but our Lions Men took control in what quickly became a fast-paced and physical affair. Oskar Dillon created our first clear chance with a downward header at the back post, and we threatened the hosts several more times from the corner.
Few further chances fell to either side, and we entered the break in a goalless stalemate.
The frequency picked up after the break, and Matt Acton was forced to make a reactive early save at the bottom left corner!
Jack Skinner provided the breakthrough ten minutes after the restart, drilling a thunderous first-time strike into the back of the net. A regular occurrence this season.

Less than ten minutes later, Shaun Carlos reacted quickly, capitalising on a poor pass out from the back and chipping a deft effort over the keeper from outside the box!

Luke Broderick added fresh energy from the bench, almost wrapping up the result with a fierce strike flashed across the face of goal. Mitch Hore was scythed down by the keeper minutes later, and he made no mistake from the spot, securing a dominant victory with a strong penalty into the bottom right corner.

We saw out a 3-0 victory on the road, and the NPL Premiership title race will go down to the final day as Moreton City Excelsior defeated Gold Coast Knights on the road.
For our U23s Lions Men, a 4-4 draw against Olympic keeps them in fourth place as they continue to push for a place in the Finals Series. Tuquiri Beckett scored a 90th-minute equaliser in a thrilling end to the game at Goodwin Park after our U23s Men had originally fought from behind.
