Second-half goals from Fred Oyet and Luke Broderick complete a strong 2-0 victory on the road with a young Lions FC squad
Walking onto the field as Premiers against Moreton City Excelsior, it was a young Lions FC squad taking to the field.
We started strong, with Jerson Lagos forcing a brilliant save with a powerful strike across the keeper. In one of the randomest sequences of the season, Sadik Abass was shown a second yellow in the thirtieth minute for jumping in front of debutant Pat Satorie and blocking his throw with an outstretched arm.
Zane North’s forty-yard effort was the last action of the half, which ultimately ended 0-0.
In the second half, we showed more intensity, with Usher Dull, Liam Ponting, and Tdonson Hammond all forcing important saves.
A special moment late in the game saw young Fred Oyet blast us into the lead, scoring his first NPL goal with a precise strike across the keeper and into the bottom left corner!

And fresh off his Premiership-winning poker against Roar, Luke Broderick rightly wrapped up the regular season with a classy finish from close-range!

A fantastic 2-0 win for our Lions Men, and a showcase of our brilliant talent as nine of the eleven players who finished on the field were under the age of 22! Well done to Dan Barber and our Lions Men!
