As always against Olympic, the game started with blistering speed and ended the same way. We exchanged tackles and quick counterattacks across the opening fifteen minutes, playing several effective long balls but failing to muster a clear shot on target.

Cardiff Pond made a dependable save as Olympic looked for a response, and we entered the interval with a slender 1-0 lead after a white-hot and physical half.
The intensity didn’t yield as our Lions Men sought a second goal. Olympic tried to keep up the pressure, but Shaun Carlos broke it with a searing half-volley to direct Joe Duckworth’s freekick into the roof of the net. Joe’s initial effort struck the left post before bouncing across the goal and into Shaun’s path.

As Olympic looked for a route back into the game, Cardiff Pond made a stunning left-leg save from point-blank range before Trent Millard made a crucial block minutes later to redirect a dangerous shot.
Despite our resolute defending, Olympic recovered a goal with ten minutes remaining, setting up a fiery final ten minutes. We remained focused and persistent, and ground out a tense and critical victory at home!
