Nic Whiteside’s first game since being named our NPL Women’s Head Coach got off to a flying start in North Lakes. A flurry of sharp crosses and close-range attempts set in motion what was destined to be a long night for the hosts.
Shianne Rosselli found our first goal in the fifteenth minute, cutting inside swiftly before guiding a nasty effort into the top left corner with conviction. The chance fell after Scarlett Premerl’s tight-angled effort clattered off the crossbar moments earlier!

With a one-goal lead firmly established, Meaghan McElligott doubled the lead out of nowhere. A sweeping cross from the right touchline arced over the keeper gracefully, landing in the top left corner like the stroke of a paintbrush!

North Lakes responded with a goal of their own to keep the intensity high. Elli Chapple was forced to make a stunning save as the hosts mounted more pressure, but we held on until the break with a 2-1 scoreline to improve on.
If North Lakes thought they had found a route back into the game before the break, the second half was all one-way traffic.
Shianne Rosselli arrived at the back post before the hour, planting a powerful header into the roof of the net to double our lead! Minutes later, Scarlett Premerl made a slick run into the box and was brought down for a penalty. Despite a firm effort from the spot, Scarlett struck the left post, and the score remained 3-1.
To ease any pressure on our defence, Shianne Rosselli completed her hattrick with striking authority, slicing a rising effort across the keeper from the far post to make it 4-1!

Persistence paid off for Scarlett Premerl, who found herself the victim of a half-dozen offside calls while striking both the crossbar and the left post in a dangerous performance. Timing her run to perfection, Scarlett glided down the left with blistering pace before slotting home sharply across the keeper to make it five!
