KQC Women QF: Premerl Poker Spearheads Progression

OUR LIONS WOMEN HIT DOUBLE FIGURES WITH A DOMINANT VICTORY TO SECURE A PLACE IN THE KAPPA QUEENSLAND CUP SEMI-FINALS

Scarlett Premerl lit up Broadbeach with four fantastic goals in a remarkable team performance that saw our Lions Women score eleven goals at Nikiforides Family Park.

In her first start of the season, Scarlett Premerl wasted no time showing what she is capable of, opening the scoring within ten minutes. A quick cut inside and a well-placed finesse into the bottom right corner broke the deadlock.

Sam DeBien came close to doubling our lead, but Broadbeach put up a strong fight to hold us at 1-0 until the thirtieth minute.

It was Kaho Nakadate who opened the floodgates, rounding the keeper deftly before finishing calmly from a tight angle. Three minutes later, Alyssa Cox poked home at the back post to make it three. Four minutes after that, Scarlett Premerl secured her second with a brilliant half-volley into the bottom left corner. Five minutes later, Tui Dugan made it five.

We took a 5-0 lead into the break.

Scarlett Premerl didn’t waste a minute of the second half. It was 46′ when she secured her hattrick, cutting inside on the edge of the box before unleashing a beautiful shot into the top right corner. Alyssa Cox then earned her second, cutting inside and powering a left-footed strike over the head of the keeper.

Scarlett Premerl secured her fourth on the hour-mark before Meaghan McElligott rounded the keeper for our ninth. Meaghan added a second, before an own goal wrapped the match up at 11-0.

This win sees our Lions Women into the Semi-Finals of the Kappa Queensland Cup!
