Alex Fiechtner produces the magic, scoring five goals in a thrilling 5-3 victory over Magic United

Two minutes in, and with a great ball from Luke Broderick, Alex feints inside, bursts sharply out, and fires across the keeper into the bottom left corner!

And before anything else really happened in the game, Alex scored again. A superb arcing pass from Shaun Carlos found his run, and the entire defence stopped to complain about him being ‘miles offside’ while he strode forward and rolled the ball into the back of the net.

Luke Broderick ran down the right flank from his own half, beating two players before whipping a neat cross into the back post. And Alex Fiechtner rose at the back post for a ten-minute hattrick!

Because he already has a few hattricks this season, Alex decided to score again. A first-time missile after Luke Broderick’s ball rebounded.

Luke Broderick saw a powerful central header tipped over the crossbar after a series of chances fell to him, and Jacson Riley made a reactive save after a defensive lapse.
On the stroke of half-time, Magic scored a banger to make it 4-1 as we entered the break.
Immediately after the restart, Fiechtner pounced on a goalkeeper error to slot home his fifth of the afternoon.

Ten minutes later, Magic won a penalty and found the back of the net to make it 5-2.
Alex Irwin returned to the field for the first time in many months, and Luke Broderick forced an excellent save at the near post.
Magic United scored again, and we were reminded to keep our focus as Magic started to believe they could muster a comeback.
Liam Ponting cut inside and clipped the bottom right post, and we held on for a 5-3 victory on the road.
