Alex Fiechtner’s first-half goal provided the win in a windy clash at Coplicks Family Sports Centre
On a phenomenally windy afternoon in Tallebudgera, our Lions Men set off to continue their strong form.
Early drama saw Oskar Dillon get away with a handball inside the box as our Lions Men tried to carve chances against a robust GCU defence. Rahmat Akbari saw a close-range strike saved, and Alex Fiechtner’s half-volleyed effort was clipped narrowly over the crossbar.
With half-time looming, Alex Fiechtner finally found the answer, planting a powerful effort into the bottom left corner with precision!

We entered the break leading 1-0!
The second half proved just as intense as our Lions Men looked for a second goal. Our best chance came through Zane North, who guided a glorious curling effort towards the top right corner!
With light rainfall beginning, our Lions Men maintained control and saw out a commanding 1-0 victory at Coplicks Family Sports Centre.
