NPLM R3: Late Double Decides Victory

TWO LATE STRIKES FROM MITCH HORE AND ALEX FIECHTNER SAW OUR LIONS MEN PREVAIL 2-0 VICTORS OVER THE WOLVES

We started quickly against the visitors, creating several decent chances within the opening five minutes. A few efforts from distance went awry as we maintained control over possession and tried to force a breakthrough.

While Wolves did threaten us on the counter, we did well to mitigate the danger and prevent any clear chances.

Jack Skinner fired a fierce left-footed effort across the keeper and over the top left corner from the edge of the box, and we entered the interval locked in a goalless stalemate.

The second half resumed with similar control. Alex Fiechtner tried to catch the keeper off his line from the halfway line, but his audacious half-volley bounced inches wide of the empty goal. Jack Skinner forced a fine save with a stinging effort from outside the box, and Andy Pengelly was denied on the follow-up.

Alex Fiechtner cut inside and drilled a powerful effort over the crossbar as our patience turned to desperation in the final ten minutes.

Two minutes later and Mitch Hore finally broke the unyielding deadlock. An intense half-volley after reacting quickly inside the box allowed him to bury a loose ball into the upper left corner with composure!
