NPLM Round #13: Excellence On The Road

OUR LIONS MEN SHOWED AUTHORITY IN FRONT OF GOAL, CRUISING TO A RESOUNDING WIN ON THE ROAD AGAINST ROCHEDALE ROVERS

Two goals on either side of the interval helped our Lions Men secure a composed 4-0 victory while keeping a cleansheet!

Under wet conditions, it was a physical match at Underwood Park, with Rochedale Rovers applying plenty of pressure in the early stages.

Despite the physical challenge, our Lions Men took the lead before the half-hour mark. Jake Bulla Minett scored his second goal in as many games, prodding home at the back post to open the scoring after a corner.

We continued to apply pressure in the final third, finally doubling our lead on the brink of half-time. Andy Pengelly planted a first-time strike into the back of the net after a fine marauding run from Luke Broderick.

Joe Duckworth scored the goal of the game, effectively securing the result with a beautiful strike from range. He guided an out-swinging first-time chipped effort into the top right corner from twenty yards with skill.

James Enticknap made it 4-0 shortly after, placing a first-time strike into the top left corner with composure. Luka Damianakis made came off the bench to make his Senior NPL debut, with our Lions controlling the final stages of the match to secure a measured victory on the road.
