NPLW R13: Five Stars in the Magic Round

OUR LIONS WOMEN CLOSED OUT THE MAGIC ROUND WITH A STUNNING 5-0 SHOWCASE AGAINST THE QAS

A goal in the first minute and a goal in the final minute demonstrated our class as we outshone QAS in the final game of the FQ Magic Round!

Ellen Gett curled a beautiful first-time effort into the top left corner to put us ahead inside one minute!

We maintained control across the opening thirty minutes, creating a few more promising chances while preventing QAS from causing any danger. Ruby Suitor doubled our lead with her first senior goal for Lions FC, outlining her immense quality after stepping into the first team earlier this season.

Within five minutes, Shianne Rosselli had made it three, and we entered the interval with three points effectively secured.

QAS started quickest after the break, and Elli Chapple was forced to make an early save, rushing off her line to make a brilliant one-v-one save!

As we continued to dictate the game, McKinley Stiff came off the bench to make her debut after being unveiled by the club this morning.

Tonia-Marie Rantucci forced a sharp save after flashing a shot across the keeper from a tight angle, and McKinley made her presence known by unleashing two powerful strikes from distance. The first sailed over the crossbar, and the second was saved.

Shianne Rosselli completed her brace and wrapped up three points with an excellent sweeping strike into the upper left corner. And then McKinley Stiff put the five-star title on the game with a tidy finish under the keeper to make it 5-0 in the final minute!
