Across August and September, players from Thailand T2 team Phrae United have travelled to Australia with Lions FC Academy Coach Kiwi Luu as part of the growing relationship between the two clubs.
The two players, Panthakit Boonyachot and Jetnipit Pompha, have spent their time in Brisbane training at our facilities at Lions FC. This has included conditioning in our gym, while also participating in training sessions with our Senior Lions Men, as they prepared for a busy end of season that included a Kappa Pro Series Final and an NPL Grand Final.
Panthakit Boonyachot, nicknamed Few, is a talented goalkeeper with a wealth of experience under his belt despite his young age of 22. Currently playing for Phrae United after joining in 2023, Few has also represented his nation as a member of the Thailand U23 National Team camp. Few is currently serving as the backup goalkeeper for the senior team and has a bright future ahead of him.
Jetnipit Pompha, who goes by Peet, has been showcasing his attacking prowess while training with our NPL Men. The dynamic winger has been with Phrae United since 2023, making nine appearances over two seasons at 19 years old. Recently, the talented youngster has joined Thai club Chiangmai FC on loan for the upcoming season!
Earlier in the year, our Lions FC U9 FQA Coach Kiwi Luu travelled to Thailand to work alongside Phrae United. He was given the opportunity to collaborate with the Phrae United Technical Director and Head Coach, shadowing the team through a standard week in professional football.
