A RAMPANT DEMONSTRATION AT HOME SEES OUR LIONS MEN DISMANTLE BRISBANE CITY IN THE BRISBANE CLASSICO

Our Lions Men comprehensively rinse Brisbane City in a 6-0 showcase of pace, possession, and precision.

Our Lions Men started with immediate impact, driving forward in force in a fast-paced start. We broke the deadlock in the seventh minute, with Alex Fiechtner scoring his first NPL goal of the season. It was a sharp finish after a lethal cutback from Jack Skinner.

We had a second goal disallowed two minutes later for a handball.

Several chances went begging as we continued to pile on the pressure. Matt Ridenton came closest to doubling our lead with a spinning first-time chip from the edge of the box.

Matt Ridenton got his goal minutes later, sneaking a deft glancing header into the bottom right corner from the near post. Alex Fiechtner supplied a suburb assist.

The game heated up, with several challenges causing emotions to rise. James Enticknap was hacked down harshly in midfield, leading to several minutes of argument and a yellow card to the visitors.

The first half ended 4-0 to our Lions Men, who completely dominated with a remarkable effort.

We maintained our intensity in the second half. It was a physical encounter with more fouls than shots. We created our best chances in the wide areas, switching the play in midfield and driving forward in numbers. Our defence remained impenetrable.

James Enticknap made it 5-0 with a beautifully-guided trivella strike into the bottom left corner after careful control on the edge of the box.

A goal-line clearance and resolute defending saw us quash any danger in our box. Hassan Ramazani makes a series of crucial blocks and clearances before charging down the other end and scoring a clean sixth after a lay-off from Shaun Carlos.

We continued to attack with conviction and danger, overloading their box in search of a second. Nobody stopped running in a remarkable effort at Luxury Paints Stadium.

We walked off to applause after an inspired performance – our strongest effort of the season so far.
